Qibla Direction

Aligned to a landmark, not a compass

Most Qibla apps use your phone’s compass, which is easily pulled off course by nearby metal and electronics, and gives you no way to tell when it is wrong.

This one does not use the compass. It draws the direction as a fixed line on the map of where you are standing, so you can line yourself up against something solid: a road, a kerb, the wall of a building. Once you know that angle, it holds every time you pray there.

Find Your Direction

Find the direction to the Ka’bah from your current location.

How To Use It

  1. Tap Find Qibla and allow location access.
  2. Zoom in until you can read the street names around you.
  3. See where the gold line crosses something fixed, such as a road, a kerb or a wall, and note the angle.
  4. Stand at that same angle.

The bearing is measured from true north, so a compass will read a few degrees differently.

To refresh the map, or to recentre it on your location, tap Find Qibla again.

Allah, the Most High, says in the Qur’an: “So turn your face towards al-Masjid al-Haram. And wherever you are, turn your faces towards it.” Surah al-Baqarah 2:144
